The building was designed with particular regard to the view and privacy sharing principles between adjoining neighbours, benefiting everybody involved. The controlled budget, light and airy beach residence blending naturally with its surroundings.

The materials and finishes reflect the coastal vernacular of the locality and are part of ESD principles applied on this project.

Green features include:

• existing basement and footings have been reused
• northern solar access has been achieved on both levels
• natural ventilation
• solar hot water
• photovoltaic panels
• water tanks
• feeding irrigation system

Adaptability has been incorporated by including a separate studio or guest accommodation in the approved design, to be added later.
